The celery juice craze took over the internet in 2019 but with it came a lot of misinformation. It was first introduced by Anthony William (you may also have heard him referred to as the ‘Medical Medium’) and the stories of people healing from chronic illness as a result of this miracle juice quickly gained attention. Soon, millions were incorporating this mineral-rich salty bev into their morning routine (including yours truly 🙋♀️), but there are some important things to remember if you plan to “go green” in the AM.
💚BENEFITS
First, we’re going to start with the benefits, because we need to know WHY this herb (fun fact – not a vegetable) is the miracle it is.
- Calms & reverses inflammation – the anti-inflammatory properties in the mineral salt clusters unique to celery starves the pathogens that cause the various symptoms and conditions often associated with chronic illness and those labeled “autoimmune”
- Balances your body’s PH – the mineral salts in celery rebuilds and strengthens the hydrochloric acid in your stomach which is critical to digestion and maintaining balance in your gut.
- Restores and strengthens stomach bile –
- High in trace minerals, neurotransmitter chemicals, and vitamin C – all vital for immune function and optimal health.
Now let’s focus on how it’s best consumed and what inhibits it’s healing potential:
✅DO’S
- Celery juice is best consumed on an empty stomach (preferably when you first wake up).
- 16oz daily is best or you can work up to 32oz if you’re looking for mega healing.
- It is important you incorporate other healthy foods throughout the day and eliminate foods high in fat, containing dairy, eggs, gluten, corn and soy.
- Consume the juice only. If you don’t have a juicer, you can chop it up, blend and strain it with a cheese cloth.
- Use organic when possible. If organic is not available (or within your budget for the time being), buying conventional is AOK as well! Just remember to wash it thoroughly. Conventional celery is always better than no celery at all.
❌DON’TS
- Do not add anything to it, unless you are adding an apple or cucumber only at the beginning to help you get used to the taste.
- Do not have anything for 15-20 minutes before or after (even water), but 30 minutes is optimal if you can swing it.
- Do not use this as a meal replacement. This is not meant to be a short-term detox or cleanse, but rather an addition to a healthy lifestyle.
- Celery juice pills and powders cannot replace pure juice. Don’t buy into the claims that extracted mineral salts or celery-rich supplements are more beneficial – they are not.
I am 4 weeks into my celery juicing and so far I am feeling great! It has really eliminated all bloating, but my reason for adding it to my morning routine (aside from all of the obvious benefits and immune support), is really to clear my chronic acne.
This type of healing doesn’t happen overnight, but I am hopeful for a ‘clear’ result by the end of 2020. It is something I plan to make a permanent part of my morning and will happily share my experience along the way.
