Attitude is everything, and how we see things will determine the action (or inaction) we take. Because we don’t see things as they are, we see things as WE are. Sometimes just a little shift in perspective can make a world of difference.
1. WHEN IT COMES TO MONEY
Touchy topic, I know. But it doesn’t have to be! We have given money WAY too much power. Remember, money is neither good nor bad, it is a TOOL – and we so often forget that. Right away, eliminate the word “budget” from your vocabulary. It holds a lot of negative energy, fostering feelings of restriction and lack. Instead, change it to “spending plan”. Just by changing the term, we have released that negative energy and infused it with feelings of choice and abundance.
2. WHEN IT COMES TO RELATIONSHIPS
This is all about expectations. The reason why we feel disappointed or hurt in a relationship is that we placed an expectation on a person that was not met. We are too hard on others (and ourselves for that matter). We don’t know what someone is going through or dealing with internally; therefore, we should stop taking things so personally. We are not responsible for anyone else but ourselves, and giving someone the power to influence your state of being is too heavy a price to pay.
One effective method is shifting the perspective from THEM to ME: instead of asking yourself “why are they acting like this?”, try “why is this bothering me?“.
3. WHEN IT COMES TO HEALTH
Time to de-clutter. There is so much information out there on what’s good vs what’s bad. It seems one day we are hearing how great one thing is for us, and the next day we hear how it can kill us (literally!) It often feels so hopeless. So turn to your own body and the infinite intelligence that created it, and just listen. It will tell you exactly what feels good, what’s fuelling it, and what’s not. We need to ignore the confusing health chatter and start trusting our bodies and gut again. It always knows what’s best for you.
4. WHEN IT COMES TO WORK
Instead of going into work with the attitude of “what do I have to do today”, and thinking about your daunting to-do lists (that seems never ending right?) shift it to “how can I be of service today“. You will begin to lift any resistance you have about your schedule and prioritize your tasks according to how you can best help your team or clients. And remember, what you put out, you get back.
5. WHEN IT COMES TO THOUGHT
Think of your thoughts as investments. Are you investing your thoughts wisely towards positivity, or are you throwing your thoughts away in the trash, that don’t serve you or your soul? You wouldn’t throw away a $100 bill in the trash yet we do so easily with our thoughts – and our thoughts are MORE valuable than money, so invest wisely!
